The ladies of San Diego GNO are happy to announce a great giveaway for a special mom.

The first annual KidsFest will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 1 – 2, 2010.  Several of us San Diego bloggers have a big ol’ booth with lots of room. Not only will we be hosting a Mom Lounge (picture comfy seating, chocolates, and neck massages), AND a diaper donation drop off, but also a promotional opportunity for one lucky lady and her business.

The Giveaway

Our group collectively decided that we would like to help promote a mompreneur. We are seeking a mother who has, within the last 12 months, launched a small business and is looking for a fun way to spread the word.

Nominations

You may nominate yourself or someone else. Please include one or two paragraphs about the person you are nominating, the name of the company, and a brief description of the business. Also an email address or phone number where the nominee can be reached.

Nominees do not need to have a blog or or be involved in social media… just someone with a new business, who has that entrepreneurial spirit, and who is trying to create a better life for herself and her family.

Choosing a Winner

We couldn’t possibly choose between all the great stories and ideas, so we’re leaving that to an independent panel of business women. Women who have been there, done that, and kicked bootay in business. On Mon, April 26th, we’lll be hosting a Twitter party with the hashtag #kidsfestsdmoms. There will be giveaways and wine (it’s a virtual party, so it’s very much BYOB) and announce the winner of the KidsFest 2010 booth.

So put your thinking caps on and think of a mom with a budding business and a go-getter attitude who could use some promotion from a bunch of crazy social media types.

This is your opportunity to try out Pure Barre and see what all the rage is about.  Here’s a little bit about the technique:

SEA LIFE Aquarium is the first Southern California aquarium to feature a scalloped hammerhead shark and will be debuting 3 very interactive shows to highlight these fascinating creatures.  In celebration, SEA LIFE is inviting 15 mom bloggers plus their kids to enjoy the aquarium, check out this awesome new shark, and preview a couple of new shows. Here is the agenda:

10:30am – 10:55am: Meet at the Ocean Journey Café at SEA LIFE for tasty treats and a welcome from Beth and Rebecca.

11:00am – 11:20pm: Be a part of The Daily Dive and help an exploration diver uncover the lost city of Atlantis.

11:20 – 11:55pm: See the only scalloped hammerhead shark in Southern California and take time to explore the rest of the Aquarium on your own.

Noon – 12:20pm: Watch “Shark Talk” – SEA LIFE Aquarium’s hilarious new interactive puppet talk show.

Note the new date!  We rescheduled due to conflict with Mom’s Nite Out.  We want to do both, right?

Please join us for an afternoon out at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center!  All ages are welcome.

We are eligible for the group rate if we have 10 certain “yes” RSVPs.  There probably will be an IMAX playing in the afternoon, however, the schedule isn’t available yet. The movies are about 45 minutes long. We will get the group rate for just regular admission which is $8 adults and $7 for kids 3 and older.  If you would like to upgrade to an IMAX, you may pay the difference when you get there.  Kids under 3 years old are free always.
